Ekocity Polytechnic has matriculated 236 students at a colourful event where the Chairman of the institution, Dr. Segun Oshundairo urged students to cultivate a positive attitude, emphasizing that their success in school and beyond depends on their mindset and behaviour.
He made this remark during the institution’s matriculation ceremony held on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Platforms Africa reports that the event, attended by parents, guardians, and distinguished guests, included notable personalities such as veteran actress Mrs. Idowu Phillips, popularly known as Mama Rainbow, and Honourable Bamgboye Emmanuel, Chairman of Mushin Local Government.
In his address, Dr. Oshundairo stressed the importance of discipline and responsibility, stating, “Your attitude determines your altitude.” He explained that students’ success would be determined by their approach to academics, personal development, and responsibilities.
He also reminded the students that they are ambassadors of their parents and should conduct themselves in a way that brings honour to their families and communities.
He congratulated the new students and their parents.
He said: “It is with great joy that I celebrate all matriculating students in our citadel of learning. I believe that the Almighty will use this institution to nurture your growth and development in all facets of life.

“I congratulate the parents and guardians for the roles that have played in their wards’ lives. It is my prayer that their labour will not be in vain.”
He emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “Today’s event is important because it marks the official enrollment of the matriculating students into the prestigious Ekocity Polytechnic’s academic programme in line with the approval of the National Board of Technical Education
(NBTE).”
Oshundairo also mentioned that Ekocity polytechnic is an industry focused institution that is a boot camp for the grooming of generational leaders.
He challenged the students to “take the bull by the horn by ensuring this opportunity does not pass them by” and advised them to aim at the sky.
He admonished the students to be responsible in expressing their liberty around the campus.
The Chairman noted that while the institution respects their right and freedom, the students should take precautions lest they be sanctioned for any inappropriate action or movement that abridged the law of the institution.
